SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Vusi’s farm is a leading producer of strawberries, known for innovation, high-quality produce and a supportive work environment.

JOB SUMMARY:

The company would like to recruit a vibrant, energetic Sales Representative to market the product in the retail business.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sales of strawberries

• Securing shelf space with key flagship retail stores

• Negotiate listings with the assistance of management

• Securing promotions with broadsheets/promotion sheets

• Promotion implementation

• Monitor the effectiveness of promotional activity

• Compiling sales reports

• Presenting sales reports to buyers and Vusi’s management team

• Market research by customer group

• Ability to analyse the research data and develop new strategies where necessary

• Able to negotiate and resolve any issues in the total supply chain

• Monitor debtors’ book and action any remedial actions required

• Secure new business in new markets for the brand

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• At least 5 to 7 years’ experience as a Sales Representative

• Soft fruit industry experience would be advantageous

• Existing client base, especially in retail i.e. Pick n Pay, Spar, Game, Walmart, Checkers and Freshmark

• Wholesale, Cash and Carry, FSI, HORECA and export experience would be advantageous

• Must be a strong negotiator

• Able to travel extensively in Gauteng and possibly other inland areas

• Must be able to handle pressure

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond very quickly to changing marketing conditions

• Skilled communicator, with a collaborative approach

• Excellent decision-making and organisational skills

• Reliable, dedicated, and willing to work extended hours, when required
